Dancing has become a new king of weight loss, and the effect of fat burning exceeds that of running

Dancing burns fat

Looking at the haze in Hangzhou these two days, it is estimated that most people give up the idea of sports and choose to eat and sleep at home. However, the latest research from the University of Brighton in the UK may make you gain a lot. They found that dancing consumed more calories than running, swimming and cycling at the same time. Now, my mother doesn't have to worry about me going to outdoor sports to absorb haze anymore.

Dancing can also eliminate negative emotions and protect the waist

For many people who want to lose weight but don't like going to the gym or outdoor sports, this research result may be the "weight loss medicine" they have been looking for.

Dr Nick Smitten of the University of Brighton, who led the study, said: "dancing, like all sports, can not only remove a lot of negative emotions and provide positive energy, but also through our research, we have found that dancing can eliminate fatigue."

According to the research of Dr. smeden's team, 30 minutes of hip-hop, swing or modern dance is far better for the waist than you can get by spending the same time in the gym. "People who often run know that whenever you run a certain distance, you will feel relaxed and your spirit will become more active and cheerful, as will dancing."

Dr. smeden and his team followed a group of students aged 24 to 38. Among them, 15 students from London City College regularly participate in a variety of dance courses, including ballet, ballroom dance, modern dance, salsa, hip-hop and swing dance. Each student will wear a sports vest equipped with heart rate detection before the dance course; At the end of the course, the research team will also ask each student to conduct an assessment of their psychological state.

During the tracking data collection of these students, Dr. smeden was surprised to find that students taking modern dance, hip-hop dance and swing dance courses consumed far more calories in a 30 minute course than they did in a 30 minute running, swimming or cycling.

Fat burning effect

Dancing > running > playing football > swimming

The research team also added the students' age, weight and physical condition to the evaluation system, and the result is still that dancing is a lot of exercise. In the heart rate tracking of these dance students, they found that each student was in the stage of strong heart beat for a period of time in each dance class, even ballet, which has always been considered elegant.

Dr. smeden said: "In addition to the heart rate, we also tracked and measured the running distance of these dancers. Most of them were hip-hop dancers. In a short half-hour course, they ran 3.6 kilometers, and even modern dance and Barre dance had 1.6 kilometers and 1.2 kilometers. From these running distances and their bodies jumping in the air, we can see that dancing The amount of exercise is definitely not small. "

On the calorie issue that dieters are most concerned about, the consumption of dancing can not be underestimated. According to the study of these students, after a 30 minute dance class, their calorie consumption is 293 calories, which is really not a little higher than running (264 calories), playing football (258 calories) and swimming (249 calories) at the same time. So one day, if you see many young people dancing with their aunt in the square downstairs, don't be surprised. Maybe they are just losing weight!
